Sunday afternoon Safari Knitting Group class member, MARLIES GUZMAN, shares this photo of the beautiful cowl and hat she knitted for her sister using a combination of STONEHEDGE FIBER MILL SHEPHERD'S WOOL and CASCADE ULTRA PIMA COTTON!  The cowl and hat patterns are from an issue of Knit Simple Magazine but Marlies made these lovely accessories her own and made them extra special by deciding to add the pretty knitted roses, complete with pearl buttons at their centers for a touch of elegance. Wonderful job and great innovation, Marlies! Thanks for sharing!  

  Our own LIZ SYMBORSKI whipped up RONDELAY, this simple yet incredibly lovely and interesting lace shawl by Jennifer Dassau using just one skein of ROWAN FINE ART yarn! Liz's lace stitchwork is always absolutely perfect and beautiful but she modestly assures me this pattern is very easy to knit. We have MANY lovely fingering weight yarns just waiting to be knitted up by YOU into lovely spring shawls-in-waiting! Even beginning lace knitters will enjoy exploring the symmetry and repetition of this pretty, pretty shawl/scarf at Woolwinders, your neighborhood yarn shop!

  The Opening Ceremonies for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi begin televised coverage this Thursday night! And how great is that for us knitters/crocheters? Hours upon hours of sports/"reality TV" to knit to! Do you have your Olympics knitting project ready to start? All I need now is a project to knit with white yarn and I'm all set, lol!
