Steeking Basics
Description:
Learn how to cut your knitting so you can knit wool sweaters in the round and not have to knit flat. Great for turning a sweater into a cardigan or knit colorwork sweaters/vests fully in the round and then steek armholes and V-necks without having to knit colorwork on the purl side.

Prerequisites for Class:
Know how to make a basic crochet chain stitch; beginner sewing
Materials Needed for Class:
100% wool DK or Worsted weight yarn (purchased at WoolWinders)
Scrap yarn of the same weight in a different color (note, you will be knitting 7"x7" sample squares so you can use leftover yarn from previous projects)
Knitting needle(s) (circular or straight) in size suggested for yarn
Needle and sewing thread in different color of yarn
Crochet hook in size suggested for yarn
Homework:
Wind your WoolWinders yarn prior to class. Please knit 2 separate 7x7 inch squares in stockinette stitch (knit front, purl back). Please bind off your squares.
