Introduction to Sock Knitting
Description: Ever wondered why sock knitting is so popular? Socks are fun, useful, and very portable projects! In this class you will learn the basics of knitting socks, including working on double-pointed needles, turning a heel, and weaving stitches at the toe using the Kitchener stitch. You will complete a mini-sock in the class.

Saturdays, 9A - 11A

Instructor:
Laura Booth
Skill Level: Intermediate - Beginner level skills plus increase, decrease, and follow simple patterns.
Prerequisites for Class: Students must know how to cast on, knit, purl, decrease stitches, and pick up stitches.
Materials Needed for Class:
One ball of smooth worsted weight yarn.
Set of double-pointed needles in sizes US 5, 6, or 7.
Tapestry/darning needle.
A crochet hook would also be helpful but is not necessary.
Pattern provided by instructor.
Homework:
Before first class, wind your Woolwinders yarn.
There may be homework between the first and second session.
