No, these ladies are not preparing for Halloween, lol! This Saturday was the CREATE YOUR OWN DRESS FORM CLASS with our own JENNIFER RAYMOND from Tinking Turtle! And what a hoot! These brave women threw modesty to the wind and, using duct tape, teamwork, and practical tips from Jennifer, created their very own personalized dress forms! After taping over a favorite tee-shirt, with a little help from their friends, they then went on the stuff the resulting form and voila, a perfect fitting dress form every time! These smart and lovely ladies will never knit a sweater that doesn't fit perfectly again! Great, great job, everyone! Kudos to class participants: PAULINE WALSTEIN (pictured left), ROBIN REED (pictured right), LAURA EISENMAN, ZITA CORREA, and GAIL GESTL.

Who is this man?! My husband, Bob, and the behind-the-scenes owner of Woolwinders! Why is his picture on our website? Because you will be seeing his face at the store this week instead of mine! My foot injury is not going well, mainly because I am not staying off my foot long enough for it to heal. I was "furloughed" today by my physical therapist, lol. Enter my awesome husband who is going to work my shifts for me this week. Never fear, all our wonderful staff members and instructors will still be there to help you with all your knitting and crocheting needs and I will be back next week:) In the meantime: knit on, friends!

One of my favorite things to do when I am knitting gifts is to personalize the items. I love putting in the recipient's initials or a secret message in a sweater hem or a hat brim:) Another wonderful way to personalize your knitting is with SHADOW KNITTING!  Scarves with a "secret" message (the message is only seen when the item is angled a certain way) like a child's name or a school or team name, or a special image like an alien or a heart can be knitted right into the design!
