DOWNTON ABBEY 2014 KNITALONG BEGINS TODAY!

1
Downton-Abbey-season-four-cast-photo-2013-2014   It's finally here! Our NEW DOWNTON ABBEY 2014 KNITALONG begins TODAY! NOW is the time to purchase your yarn and begin knitting the first section of the project! This year, we will be knitting a stunning DOWNTON ABBEY WRAP, comprised of three sections: body, border, edging. The time to knit the body section is NOW so you will be ready for the weekly installments of directions to knit the lace border beginning January 5th during the first episode in season four of Downton Abbey. The materials are listed below. For the free directions for SECTION ONE of the wrap, join our ravelry group page at www.ravelry.com/groups/woolwinders-yarn-shop or call us at 240-632-9276 to be put on our email distribution list. Size: Approx. 24” x 60” blocked Yarn: 4 skeins String Theory Merino DK (100% superwash merino; 280 yds.) 3-4 skeins Shibui Silk Cloud (60% mohair/40% silk; 330 yds.) optional in matching colors OR approx. 1120 yds. worsted weight yarn of your choosing Needles: US #9-10 32”circular (or size needles to obtain gauge) Gauge: Approx. 4 sts = 1” Locking St Markers: 23 locking stitch markers: 16 in color A and 7 in color B Notes:
  1. This wrap is worked with two strands of yarn held together throughout (one strand of merino DK and one strand of mohair). Adding the mohair is optional but lends the piece an added level of softness and sophistication.
  2. The pattern is worked in three sections. Section one is the basic stole portion of the wrap. It is worked horizontally in a simple stockinette stitch. Section one needs to be completed before you begin section two.
  3. Section two is a lace sampler border comprised of eight different lace patterns work in squares across the live stitches at the bottom of section one. Each week during the new episode of Downton Abbey, a new lace square section will be released for you to work on and to add to your wrap during the course of the series. There is some minimal seaming of these squares upon completion of this section.
  4. Section three is a finishing lace edging which may be added after completing section two. Directions:
For the rest of the pattern, join us on our Woolwinders Yarn Shop Ravelry Group Page at www. Ravelry.com/groups/woolwinders-yarn-shop or call us at 240-632-9276 and join our email distribution list to receive weekly installments of the remainder of the pattern beginning January 5th!
