This book is GORGEOUS. Our very own FLO turned us on to it, and after glancing inside (which you can magically do on the amazon page) we put it in our cart immediately. We should get it today. Which by the way, according to amazon, is the last day of free shipping in time for Christmas. So get with the program and link to the book already!!!

Second, our WINTER NEWSLETTER is waiting nicely in its queue to be delivered via email this afternoon. If you don’t get our newsletters already, you might want to start with this one. Why? Because the first article is about something very special that is going on at the shop SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20. Finally, because of the special event Sunday (did we mention that it’s really special?), we are moving the WESLEY HAT program to NEXT SUNDAY, December 27. There won’t be a program this week. Because we have a special event on Sunday. Really special.

On Saturday, we continue (or begin since it snowed last week!) the fabulous SHRUGIGAN Easy and quick to knit, this clever garment is a shrug, cardigan, or shawl depending on how you button it.

We are very excited about the programs. You can learn ENTRELAC with KATHY on Sunday, January 31; you can participate in any number of SAFARIS, AND you can learn things like CABLES and LACE for FREE on the weekends. That would be FREE. As in NO CHARGE. We just ask that you purchase the yarn from WoolWinders!

So forget about those horrible resolutions like exercising more or cursing less. Learn a new craft in 2010. It’s way more fun. Just read through the info about how to sign up, ok? It helps our staff a lot!

We just spoke to the lovely folks at SKACEL and they have the ADDI CLICK sets in stock for the holidays! These are amazing interchangeable needles with the famous ADDI tips. They are expensive, we are not going to lie to you, but totally worth it. They retail for $150 and include tips from size 5-15 and cord lengths from 16-32. So just think of the money you save by never buying needles again!!!! We think this is the perfect thing to ask Santa for, assuming you have been good this year.

We are open! This snow is the perfect inspiration to start a new project - such as our December Knit-along - the Schaeffer Shrugigan.

Or maybe warm worsted weight mittens and matching hat? (which you will want when clearing that heavy wet snow off your car - trust me, we found out the hard way)

If you are participating in the Sunday NIGHT GARDEN BAG program, please bring any remnants of FELTABLE WOOL that you may have lying around. The flowers on this bag take very little yarn, and we imagine that all of you can make some friendly swaps! Thanks. And BTW, if you have been curious about felting but fearful, this is a GREAT beginners project. No hardware is required and the bag is done very quickly.

The Sunday in the Salon program this week is scheduled just for that day, not for the two Sundays as previously mentioned. Next Sunday, the 13th, we will be making the ultimate last minute gift, THE FELTED WALLET. You can knock this puppy out in about an hour. Make a bunch, felt them, and let them dry for about two days—VOILA! You can make them in white or pink if you want sparkly—or any of our Cascade 220 or Manos colors for your more conservative friends. Of course, with all the felting going on around here, Kerry will be on hand both Sundays to help you with last minute embellishments of either project!

Our staff has been busy this week! They have checked, priced and shelved BLUE SKY ORGANIC COTTON and all our BRYSON NOTIONS as well as (gasp! finally!) the CRYSTAL PALACE DPNS!!!! And then today we shelved the popular COCOON COLLECTION of patterns (how popular? We have sold 30 this season!) as well as the lovely teal color of that yummy yarn.

We are so excited about the programs this weekend that we couldn’t wait until our usual Thursday to post. First up, our KNITALONG on Saturday is a great last-minute holiday project. We featured it in the fall newsletter—the SHRUGIGAN. Is it a wrap? A shawl? A cardigan? Depending on how you button it, it is all three. It takes just one skein of the gorgeous SCHAEFER YARN NANCY and size 7 needles, and it is an unbelievably easy knit. You will also need six buttons and we have gorgeous new ones:

And on Sunday we begin a two-part NONI BAG. This NIGHT GARDEN BAG is the must-have accessory for the holidays. Although you may start this as a gift, we have a feeling you are going to want one for yourself! We have plenty of Cascade 220 and Whistler for felting.
