Our favorte Tshirt reads “ENGLISH MAJOR: YOU DO THE MATH.” We say this as a way of apologizing for the math errors in the BEADED BAG pattern that we gave out recently. Our lovely friend JANICE was kind enough to rework the pattern as she made the bag. She has made two and so is confident that all the math in this revision is correct. We will have printed copies at the shop. Thanks for your patience! And a million thanks to Janice.

Repeat rows 1 – 6 until the bag measures at least 7.25 inches ending with having knit a wrong side row. (Note: If you are using a 150 yard skein of Rock Star beaded silk you can knit until the bag measures 8 inches.)

Row 4: Purl (should end up with 134 stitches on the needle)
Row 5: Bind off
Finishing:
Sew the sides of the bag together using a mattress stitch. Construct the lining of bag. Whip stitch the lining to the finished bag. Attach handles or snaps as desired.
Optional finishing: You may have enough yarn remaining to make an I-cord approximately 20 – 23 inches long (or whatever length pleases you). If you choose to do this, before attaching the lining, secure the I-cord to the seams in the interior of the bag up to the point the ruffle begins on each side (I-cord will be sandwiched between the bag and the lining). Secure the lining to the bag. Attach snaps as well. This way you can use the bag with or without a strap/handle as needed.
