WINTER 2010 Class Schedule
The WINTER 2010 Class Schedule is available here.
Winter provides an opportunity to get back to your own knitting and crocheting! Enough of the selfless gift giving. Take a deep breath and join us this winter for the Saturday Knitalongs and/or our shorter Sunday in the Salon programs. All programs are FREE OF CHARGE and are held from 2-4 PM. Please respect our policy and work with yarns purchased from WoolWinders. Thanks!
February 7: Snowboard Hat: Get out your big needles and superbulky yarn for this weekend knit that will keep your head warm through the rest of the winter!
February 14: Felted Ballet Slippers: Love to make slippers but hate doing short rows? This is the pattern for you. Knit flat and sewn together—add a great button and you are good to go!
February 21: Reverse Cable Scarf: One of our most popular programs. We will teach you to make a scarf that has cables on both sides.
February 28: Pocket Scarf: Keep your hands toasty warm in this really easy and yet unique scarf.
March 7: Cable Headband: As spring approaches, you might not need the warmth of a whole hat. Make this headband instead.
March 14: Laurel Pram Blanket: We are often asked “What can I do with ONE SKEIN of Laurel”? Here’s your answer. The very talented Stephanie designed a few “pram” or stroller blanket patterns that are featured in the Spring Newsletter. And we’ll show you how fantastic they are!
March 21: Felted Oven Mitts: Get a jump on Mother’s Day gifts with these clever oven mitts that are knit and then felted for ultimate protection!
March 28: Spring Crocus Tote: Welcome in spring with a felted tote that features the first seasonal flower as embellishment.
Join us each Saturday for longer Knitalongs. Whether you want these fall beauties to end up as gifts to yourself or others is totally your call! All programs are free of charge and run from 2-4 PM. Please respect our shop and work with yarn purchased from WoolWinders.
JANUARY: Fair Isle/Aran Afghan Squares Requires more advanced knitting skills, including pattern reading. Join Paige as she guides your through both the Fair Isle and Aran (cable) techniques to make a beautiful afghan.
FEBRUARY: February Lady Sweater. OK, corny, we know. But let’s celebrate the month with its eponymous sweater. And it’s flattering to boot.
MARCH: Laurel Shawl Make this beautiful lace shawl out of the hand-dyed Laurel yarn to welcome in spring!

NEW KOIGU IS HERE--OUR EMAIL ISN'T!
Good news/bad news day. First the good. The new shipment of KOIGU has arrived--plenty of yummy colors in the ever popular KPPM! Whether you want to make the TRES JOLIE SHAWL, CHARLOTTE'S WEB, SOCKS or GLOVES you will love this yarn!
And the bad news. We learned this morning that our emails have been "stuck" in our system for the past NINE DAYS! So if you sent us something and didn't hear back, don't think badly of us! We thought the responses had gone out. Something has, in technical terms, gone "gaflooey" with our system. And we are working on it. Thanks for your patience!

SUNDAY IN THE SALON
Join us this Sunday from 2-4 as we knit the ultimate hostess gift--the WINE WRAP. We've made a ton of these and they are always a huge hit! One skein of superbulky yarn (POINT FIVE or BIG WOOL works well) and size 11 and 8 DPNs. The finished product is quick and adorable--kind of a "wine bottle dress." Really. You will make an entrance with these, and no need to stop at the last minute to buy a bag for that much-appreciated wine.

As always, the program is free of charge and will run from 2-4 PM. Don't know how to use double pointed needles? We'll show you!

ARTYARNS SILK RHAPSODY
We were delighted at the response our SILK RHAPSODY jacket received-thanks to all who admired it, tried it on, and then bought yarn to create it! We now have in stock the colorway in which it was knit-a beautiful brown/grey/tan with gold metallic. This is the perfect yarn for a dressy holiday jacket! And the pattern, a LILY CHIN design, is unbelievably easy and quick. Don't want dressy? The jacket can be made in anything from alpaca to MANOS to NORO. We will help you pick out the perfect yarn and give you the pattern as well!
Our WINTER NEWSLETTER is in the works-make sure you get a copy of your own. Simply go to the bottom left of this home page, and fill out your email address. You will be taken to a screen that asks you for your email address again and your zip code; once you have filled that out you will receive a confirmation email back to make sure you really want to be on our list. Don't miss a newsletter, monthly event schedules, sale notices...we do EVERYTHING via email!

REGIA SOCK YARN BACK IN WOOLWINDERS!
Yes, we know that many of you LOVED REGIA SOCK YARN and were disappointed when we stopped carrying it due to distribution issues. We were delighted when WESTMINSTER FIBERS, our ROWAN pals, took over. So come on out to the shop for some great sock yarn! We focused on "manly" and neutral colors, to contrast with our hand dyed beauties. And Marietta, our Socks on Circs teacher, swears by this yarn and picked the colors personally!
Also in, the "we can't keep it in stock and the patterns are kickin'" SIMPLE STYLE from Manos Del Uruguay.
