Our Saturday KALS have taken on a life of their own! Join the group for wine, snacks, and knitting your project each Saturday of the month. You don’t need to attend every session, but we do recommend that you attend the first week to get some basic instruction and guidance.

This 42 X56” afghan will run you less than $150!
MAY:DIAGONAL TRIANGLE TANK. We call this the Miracle Tank—it looks good on everyone! Unravel the mystery of modular knitting while you knit this lovely sleevelee or short sleeve top. We recommend either the ARTYARNS Regal Silk yarn, Patricia Roberts DK, or Karabella Vintage Cotton. And we’ll spend a lot of time on gauge at the first session—in modular knitting you must get row and stitch gauge!
JUNE:BEACH BAG. Knit yourself a Beach Bag that will carry you and all your gear through the summer! The perfect stressless knitting—no shaping or fit!
We love dealing with local companies, especially when they produce yarns as exquisite as the ones from BLUE HERON on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. And when the owner can just "drop by" with tons of yarn in his car!
The fabulous Damien visited last week, and what we didn't take as cash and carry, he sent as soon as he returned. Come check out the spring offerings in cotton, rayon, and silk blends. We fell in love with these last year and keep increasing the number of yarns we carry from BLUE HERON. And though we took a picture of all the yarns we received today with our new cell phone, we are unsure of how to email the picture so Lew can put it up on the website. (Baby steps....baby steps...). So hopefully Lew will be able to help with that tonight. But to entice you, we can relate that one of our wonderful customers bought two skeins of the WOVEN COTTEN RIBBON right out of the box.And we also stocked BEADED RAYON, COTTON/RAYON SEED, and PETITE RAYON RIC RAC. We're thinking these won't last long.......

TAMARA'S BLANKET
We simply LOVE when customers email us pictures of finished products, particularly when they adorn subjects as cute as the one below. Tamara finished her KOIGU BIG BAD BABY BLANKET and promptly wrapped her beautiful niece in it! Isn't she great? And isn't the blanket great too????

IF YOU THOUGHT THE SHEEP TAPE MEASURERS WERE CUTE....
...check out the BEES we received from Lantern Moon. A bit of a spring fancy! They are just adorable.
Also from LANTERN MOON, full range of needles in 12" length as well as DPNs. These were requested by several customers, and we LOVE to hear from you!
And we received the last box from PATRICIA ROBERTS YARN. We were knitting like the wind last night to finish our WOOL in the WOODS shell JUST so we could start on our PATRICIA ROBERTS short sleeve top out of her fine cotton. And the yarn did NOT disappoint. Great soft cotton. Great clarity of color (pink). Now to fit into our white jeans for a complete ensemble. Maybe by the time we finish the top!

NEW OFFERINGS!
We thought John the UPS Guy had passed us by, but no. He brought several boxes of assorted sizes. We saw the shipping labels and squealed in delight, causing him to remark that we were consistently his happiest customers.
What caused the glee?
1. New Elsebeth Lavold book: THE ENCHANTED GARDEN. Gorgeous designs in dk/worsted weight yarn.
2. New color of KATIA JAMAICA, our current favorite kids' yarn for spring
3. Colinette GIOTTO in previously sold out colorways SAHARA and MONET
4. Restocks of the popular TRES JOLIE shawl pattern
5. ANNE sock yarn from Schaefer Yarns and (drum roll please)
6. ANDREA and PATTY,, new silk yarns from Cheryl herself. Given our opinion of most silks, you have to know how fabulous these yarns are for us to buy them. Think shawls and scarves in her Memorable Women colorways. We sold one 1000 yard skein of Andrea right out of the box!

PATRICIA ROBERTS COTTON
Ready for the softest cotton you have ever imagined? Ready to work on small (or smallish) needles? Take a peek at the PATRICIA ROBERTS COTTON we just received from London. We are one of a handful of American stores that are fortunate enough to carry her yarns--they are nothing short of exquisite. How exquisite? Well, we are about to knit a sweater on size 2 and 3 needles--that's how much we loved her cotton when we saw it last summer! First drawn to her clarity of colors, we fell in love with the hand of both her lambswool and cotton. We have a few colors in both the FINE COTTON (4 PLY) and COTTON 2 (DK WEIGHT) and are expecting more within the next week. Whether you want to knit tops or just find a soft cotton carry along, check out these yarns! And we have plenty of pattern support including some gorgeous designs in the new RYC books from Rowan.

MORE SPRING GOODIES!
John the UPS Guy never disappoints. This morning he wheeled in three big boxes. And we are now restocked with beautiful knitting bags from BUTTERMILK ROAD DESIGNS (our last shipment lasted a week at the store!) as well as last year's favorite cotton STRIA (and corresponding pattern books). Not to give MANOS short shrift--we continually run out of this yarn and it is back in stock.
As are our necessary NOTIONS from Bryson. If you need a darning needle, knit check, crochet hook or the like, come on by! We've got 'em.

NECESSARY NEEDLES
The last of our needle orders was rolled into the shop by John the UPS Guy-Crystal Palace short bamboo and dpns are now back in stock! We are also stocked with the spring issue of INTERWEAVE KNITS (we want to knit the cover sweater, always a good sign!) and Debbie Bliss' new PURE SILK pattern collection. Although we didn't order the yarn (because our focus group of customers agreed that most silk yarn IS, in fact, like the really cute guy with bad breath and no sense of humor) the patterns are GORGEOUS and will work well with her CATHAY yarn, among others. And yes, the patterns have schematics. You go, Deb.

THE PERFECT STORM
FINALLY!!!! They are calling for snow in our area and no knitter wants to be caught inside without a suitable project. As if that weren't incentive enough, the Olympics start tonight. And we are having a VALENTINE'S DAY SALE featuring 15% off all yarns with even the least bit of RED, WHITE, or PINK in them. So as those three forces converge, come on in to WoolWinders to check out new spring arrivals as well as winter favorites.
If we really do get the storm they are predicting (isn't being a weather person the perfect job? You can be wrong almost all the time and yet never get fired!), please call the store before heading out. We will have a suitable message on the voicemail if we have closed the shop.

AND THE SPRING YARNS JUST KEEP COMING!!!
We didn't think we would see John the UPS Guy today, but he wheeled in three boxes from Knitting Fever this morning. Know what that means? Spring Noro. Spring Debbie Bliss. Spring cottons!!!!
And what goodies were within! Remember those adorable necklaces made from Noro Daria last summer? We didn't have a skein left by mid-June. Well, hurry in to choose from 10 colors! The pattern is free with purchase. And we are very excited about Noro's new spring offering-Tidiori. Gorgeous colors, of course, in a 4.5 to the inch rayon/cashmere/nylon blend that is sure to provide both drape AND memory!
Not to slight other favorites. More colors of Debbie Bliss CATHAY which is a gorgeous yarn for lightweight three season sweaters. And finally, Martha's favorite chunky cottons (great for quick baby blankets!) PATAGONIA and NATURE COTTON. Both tone on tone and variegated colors dominate.
More to come. This was about half of our KNITTING FEVER order. Stay tuned. We are swatching as fast as we can!
And don't forget about our VALENTINE'S DAY SALE! From now through close of business Tuesday, take 15% off any yarns with pink, red or white in them. All sales are final.
